FTC click-to-cancel rule
The 2025 Federal Trade Commission rule making it unlawful to obstruct subscription cancellation for US consumers.
Effective May 2025, the rule requires: cancellation at least as easy as signup, plain-language disclosure of recurring charges, and prohibition of misleading terms. Non-compliance can trigger FTC enforcement, state attorney general actions, and private suits.
