FTC click-to-cancel rule

The 2025 Federal Trade Commission rule making it unlawful to obstruct subscription cancellation for US consumers.

Effective May 2025, the rule requires: cancellation at least as easy as signup, plain-language disclosure of recurring charges, and prohibition of misleading terms. Non-compliance can trigger FTC enforcement, state attorney general actions, and private suits. ChurnStop validates the five most cited rule checks on every settings save and refuses to store a flow configuration that would obstruct cancel — the check is runtime, not just documentation.
